The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, by Dr. Seuss, is a classic holiday heartwarming read that brings so many giggles and smiles to any classroom. It is perfect for students who love to immerse themselves in fantasy, poetry, holiday cheer, and imagination! I read the book aloud every year then assign this hyperslide choice board of blended learning activities to help my students interact with the common themes!
In this resource, students will have a chance to dissect the song ‘You’re a Mean One’ with resources from both the classic version or the updated 2018 movie version, learn about Theodore Geisel, ponder their own joy for the holidays, and even try out some rhyming fun. I’ve also linked a game that my students enjoy using a brain break during our Grinch study. The resource is set in a blended learning format where the students can work online or in their reading journals, your choice!

What sets us apart?! Our products are made for students to practice ALL FOUR LITERACY DOMAINS – listening, speaking, reading and writing. In these 4 different activities students will be doing all four, multiple times. Directions for preparing and differentiating the product are included for more novice teachers.

For optimal use, we recommend that you download any external resources linked (any documents, slides, etc) before sharing with students and relinking with your district share settings. This ensures your students are clicking on district-protected links and not links from my account. [This isn’t required, but just helpful for link sharing!]

Our students have LOVED these fun activities while we read the book throughout the week, and our ELL students have really “found their voice” as we support them in language acquisition while also building empathy for each other and our language needs. It’s exciting to see them so involved with their learning at their own pace. It’s my deepest hope that your students will love it, too!

As with all Brandy Alexander EDU purchases, we are here to help you and just an email away in case you need additional support implementing your resource.

HyperQuad – The perfect combination of literacy skills balancing listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Each document is hyperlinked and provides opportunities for students to engage in higher-level thinking about texts either read aloud or independently in a blended learning format (in-person or virtual learning).
